Therapy Services AvailableAt DuPage Medical Group’s Physical and Occupational Therapy Services (DMG PT/OT) we provide treatment for work-related injuries. We are committed to assisting businesses in preventing and managing on-site work injuries. DMG PT/OT emphasizes frequent communication with physicians, worker’s compensation carriers/case managers, and employers. We are aggressive in treating our patients and take great pride in returning the individual safely back to work in a timely and cost-effective manner. DMG provides a variety of services to assist in both the recovery and treatment of injured workers as well as prevention of future injury. We perform thorough Functional Capacity Evaluations (FCE) as well as provide for general rehabilitation of the injured worker including, but not limited to, work conditioning. Functional Capacity EvaluationsWe perform Functional Capacity Evaluations using the widely recognized Isernhagen -WorkWell System. This two day test allows the therapist to evaluate the precise physical and functional abilities of the patient regarding strength, motion, and balance. This test also enables the therapist to assess functional performance activities such as lifting, carrying, walking, sitting, standing, squatting, forward bending, overhead reaching, pushing/pulling, ladder climbing, kneeling/crawling, crouching, hand coordination, etc. It is the thorough and objective evaluation of these tasks that helps our therapist determine when, and in what capacity, the individual can return safely to work. Injury RehabilitationDMG PT/OT provides evaluation and treatment of all musculoskeletal injuries including fractures, sprains, strains, tendinitis, repetitive motion, and nerve/tendon injuries as well as custom static and dynamic splinting capabilities. Treatment is specific to both the patient’s injury as well as to his/her job demands. Our environmental assessment provides suggestions to safely modify tasks and/or the patients physical work space in order to maintain and facilitate normal safe work function. This allows us to return the patient to work safely and efficiently. Treatment can include cardiovascular activity, flexibility, strengthening and coordination exercises. We also place great emphasis on the education and training of the injured worker particularly as it relates to body mechanics, general ergonomics and job simulation tasks. LocationsWe have six facilities located throughout the DuPage County. A seventh location in Westmont will be added in spring 2010. We offer extended hours of operation Monday-Thursday from 6 am to 8 pm, Friday 6am-6pm and Saturdays 8am – 12 pm.
