Getting patients back to an active life
Dr. John Lombardi
Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon
It's unfortunate, but most of us at one point or another will suffer from an orthopaedic condition that compromises our quality of life. It may be the result of an injury, an accident or aging. Fortunately, orthopaedic surgeons like Dr. John Lombardi are here to help patients treat their condition so they can return to enjoying life to the fullest.
As a board certified orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Lombardi specializes in treating conditions affecting the joints such as the knees, the shoulders or the hips. In addition, as a trauma surgeon, he also treats injuries to the feet, ankles or hands. While surgery may be appropriate for many, Dr. Lombardi takes a conservative approach to patient care, often utilizing nonsurgical treatments such as medications, injections or physical therapy to treat an orthopaedic condition.
When surgery is the only viable option, Dr. Lombardi relies upon his extensive experience. Prior to joining DuPage Medical Group, Dr. Lombardi was the Physician Director of the Joint Replacement Program at Highline Medical Center in Seattle, WA. For six years he was actively involved in the development of their Joint Replacement program and was instrumental in implementing their minimally invasive joint replacement program.
Dr. Lombardi joined DuPage Medical Group in 2009. Now as part of their orthopaedic surgery team, he provides outstanding medical care including joint replacement surgery, fracture treatments and trauma surgery. Beyond traditional orthopaedic care, Dr. Lombardi plays an active role in bringing promising new orthopaedic procedures to DuPage Medical Group. For example, he is using computer-assisted surgery for patients who are qualified candidates. This cutting edge procedure utilizes highly advanced CT technology to help the surgeon precisely align surgical implants resulting in faster recovery and better physical function.
Beyond his surgical expertise, a major component of his care involves extensively listening to his patients. Often, one's ailment may be a mystery and achieving an accurate diagnosis is critical. By spending time with his patients he is able to gain a thorough understanding of their ailment and can then recommend the appropriate diagnostic tests to verify his findings. From there, he then develops a customized, treatment plan to address their condition. This highly personal approach is a differentiating factor when comparing him to most other orthopaedic surgeons.
If you have a condition that is affecting your mobility or quality of life, Dr. Lombardi can help you. For more information or an appointment with Dr. Lombardi, please call 630 790 1872.
