Julio Gonzalez, M.D.
A dedicated and energetic physician, Dr. Gonzalez brings sports medicine expertise to his role at DuPage Medical Group. Dr. Gonzalez's clinical interests include the treatment of children and adults who suffer from acute and chronic sports related injuries, as well as other non-surgical musculoskeletal problems.
Dr. Gonzalez received his medical degree in 2000 from the University of Illinois at Chicago. In 2003, he completed his residency in Family Medicine at Kaiser Permanente Orange County in California. He underwent intensive fellowship training in sports medicine at Ball Memorial Hospital of Indiana in 2003 and 2004, where he was a team physician for Ball State University. He has also acted as a team physician for several high schools throughout his training.
Currently, Dr. Gonzalez serves as the Medical Director for the Naperville Women's Triathlon, an event that is held annually. He is a team physician for US Soccer and provides medical coverage for the staff and team on international trips. Dr. Gonzalez also provides medical coverage for several local high school athletic programs.
He is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, American Academy of Family Physicians and the American Medical Association. He is affiliated with Central DuPage and Edward Hospitals.
